MENU AS A TOOL

Long time ago, purpose of a menu was to present the restaurant's offer to it's guests, but nowadays the opportunities are endless. Few are those who expect tradition when it comes to menu presentation.
A wise restaurant manager will use the time that customer spend staring at the possible lunch choice. Menu can inform guests about restaurant's social networks such as twitter and facebook, making sure that some of the guests will interact with the restaurant on-line. Such is the case for the menu from Roso Restaurant & Bar from island of Brač, shown below. On the top of the page it lists Trip Adviser information of the location, as well as Instagram, facebook, etc..

On the other hand, menu could be used as a part of the restaurant's decor. Such is the case with the restaurant Mr. Brown from Monterrey, Mexico. Mr. Brown's menus are innovative, playful and go along with the interior once they are hung up the wall to be stored. Another great menu feature designed by Jerome and Zimmerman are the pictures of the restaurant's offer. It is said that the picture is worth a thousand words. Just make sure that the pictures are telling a nice fairytale, not a horror story.

MINDFULL RESTAURANT SERVICE

Fotocredit-Stephan-Höning
When it comes to serving food, many of the restaurants that look for promotion points experiment with the actual food service. The above liquid container is a great example, but only if there is a good reason for disposable kitchenware/ serving ware. Remember, restaurant businesses will be awarded for their practical ideas, as well. Try local ingredients and sustainable business practices to reduce our carbon footprint.
Check out this garbageless restaurant "Sandwich Me In", based in Chicago. It's owner, Justin Vrany, is a real inspiration and the engine behind it.

It is closely related to štruklji, a traditional Slovene dish. (From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

At the begginng of the 2016, the number one restaurant in Zagreb is "La Struk", as seen through the eyes of TripAdvisor. The name of the restaurant suggests that the main dish of the venue is traditional strukl.

RESTAURANT TERRACE AS A PUBLIC SPACE

Each restaurant terrace could be a usefull, decorative and friendly space. Such is a case with a restaurant located in a  Ileana Tounta Contemporary Art Center, that goes under the name 48 Urban Garden .
